Arrest and Prosecution
In the event that you have been arrested, Goodhand and Forsyth are available 24/7 to assist you under the Duty Solicitor Scheme. Please ask when in custody for Goodhand and Forsyth.
We will ensure you are represented and are able to advice on all criminal matters. You must ensure that you are represented fully, and Goodhand and Forsyth will advise you of your rights from the time of arrest, interviews at the police station, being charged, representation at the magistrates' court and/or crown court. We are able to provide you with the support you require and advice you as to the possible outcome from caution, to formal charge and the sentence which may be imposed.
At Goodhand and Forsyth, we will advise you in relation to costs and assess you for Legal Aid. If you are arrested, you are entitled to see the Duty Solicitor free of charge uder the Duty Solicitor Scheme. In the event that you are charged, you may be eligible for Legal Aid and our Solicitors will assess you for Legal Aid.
In the event that you are not entitled to Legal Aid, we will assess your case, on an individual basis and advice you of your options.
